I moved out of my hometown when I went to college and never looked back. So when I see folks who still have friends — and I don’t mean Facebook friends — from junior high and high school decades later, I’m full of awe and envy. That the bonds of friendship could hold through so many inevitable changes over the years says something about the big hearts of those involved. These two might be in their twenties or early thirties, and no, they haven’t gone through the test of time (at least how I measure it) but my sense is, their friendship will stick.
